The DQ Difference
This approach is unique
Many in the fitness world subscribe to the "No pain, no gain" philosophy. They say that soreness is part of the process. In fact, muscle soreness is actually an injury. You can become very fit without pain.
While you will improve your technique over time, you will reach your goals without strain or striving. The emphasis is on feeling the fullness of the pose, not trying to contort yourself into a painful position to imitate someone else.
In this class, people don't compete. They celebrate each other's accomplishments. You will do the right pose for you today, and grow into new poses naturally, without strain.
Your health history is taken before you enter class. Therefore an individual modification can be given to you to protect you from a posture that may aggravate an existing injury or be contraindicated if you have a certain medical condition.
In these classes, you monitor yourself and do what feels goods today. Over time, your strength and flexibility will improve without struggle.
Ask yourself this: what's it worth if you don't get hurt?
In drop-in classes, the teacher cannot progress the group as a whole, because beginners are constantly entering –and dropping out of– class.
Deborah's classes are fun and pleasurable and students are friendly. This creates a social support that brings people back week after week. People celebrate each other's achievements. They make friends with each other. People pull together.
One they discover the DQ difference, students stay for years.
In this class, you are encouraged to work in a relaxed manner with your breath. Rather than endless striving, you keep improving -- even when you've surpassed all your original goals.
Students value the serene, relaxed ambiance – and never want to miss a class!
Here you will find people who are reliably well-mannered, considerate and friendly. Class guidelines are explained to each student before attending the class so everyone knows what is expected.
This creates a wonderful ambiance and sense of safety.
